Choose matching terms

Use aliases for alternative names for the same subject. Use context to narrow a common or ambiguous name.

Example

Track “Acme Motors” with alias “Acme”. Require “recall” to focus on recalls. Excluding “toy” will also remove relevant articles that mention that word.

Steps

  1. Add the main name or phrase and useful alternative spellings.
  2. Use required terms for context that must be present.
  3. Use optional terms for alternatives and exclusions for results you do not want.
  4. Read the matching preview before saving.

Done when: You can explain which article should match and why.
